I was once Quincy Scott, the exalted divine girl of the Scott family, who willingly descended into the mortal world for love, becoming Yale Luke's most intimate confidante. Chapter 1 of "The Four Wishes"

My name is Quincy Scott. She is the tenth-generation divine girl of the Scott family, entrusted with a sacred mission. The secret of our lineage lies buried deep within our bloodline. As long as lovers reach the pinnacle together in their sleep, they gain a chance to make a wish. This wish is no mere fleeting thought. It is a spiritual power that can truly rewrite the fate of the beloved. In the first year after meeting Yale Luke, I made my first wish. I wished for him to be freed from the chronic stomach illness that had plagued him for years. Before that, he would always curl up in pain late at night. Cold sweat on his forehead could soak half a pillowcase, and even a sip of warm water could trigger spasms. On the dawn of the day his wish came true, he placed his hand on his stomach and smiled. Having lived for over twenty years, it was the first time he realized how wonderful it felt to be free of pain. I sat beside him, gazing into the light shining in his eyes. Back then, I thought this was how love was meant to be. The following year, I made a second wish. I wished for him to have a truly whole and complete family. He had been adopted by foster parents since childhood. At first, he received some faint care, but ever since his little sister, Maggie Luke, was born, he became invisible within the family. Maggie Luke would deliberately toss his textbooks into the mud. He would cry before his foster parents, saying he was bullied, his back covered in bloodstains from the lashes of a leather belt. He once took refuge beneath my building during a fierce storm. Soaked to the bone, he said, 'Quincy, it seems I have no home anymore.' When his wish was fulfilled, he found his long-lost biological parents. That day, he held me tightly, crying for a long time, saying that at last someone truly cared for him. I gently patted his back to comfort him. Quietly in my heart, I vowed to give him even more love from then on. In the third year, I made my third wish. May he come to own a publicly listed company of his own. At that time, he was still an employee at a small company. Every day, he had to buy coffee and print documents for his boss, endure difficult clients, yet his salary was pitifully low. He once pulled out his business plan late into the night. With eyes shining, he said, Quincy, I want to build a great career and give you a better life. On the day the company was established, he stood atop the office building. Pointing to the bustling streets below, he said, all of this is because of you. I smiled and nestled into his embrace. I completely missed the complex emotion that flickered in his eyes. On the night of our fourth anniversary, I sat before the dressing table. Looking at myself in the cheongsam reflected in the mirror, my heart raced slightly. I had already decided on the fourth wish—the final one. May we have a pair of children, completing a perfect 'good' character. Health, family, career—we already have these three. Only one child left, and our happiness will be complete. To avoid being disturbed, I quietly took Yale Luke's mobile phone. He turned on silent mode and deleted all notifications from apps that might pop up. I thought it was for our sleep together. But unexpectedly, it became Maggie Luke's death knell.
