I rolled down the car window and stared at the figure bending over to pick up the exercise books. "Look up. State your name." He lifted his eyes, his voice as cold as ice. "Simon. None of your business." I twirled the diamond bracelet on my wrist and flipped a black card onto his exercise books. "Come with me. Money, power, a future—I'll give you everything." He ignored me and turned to leave, but I called out to him. "Simon. Remember this day. From now on, I'm the one who holds your life in my hands." His steps faltered. He glanced back at me. "Not necessarily. Miss Scott—don't back yourself into a corner." He strode away. I gripped the steering wheel tightly and let out a cold laugh. "A corner? We'll see.
